Judy Joanne Grossi

Judy Joanne (Townsend) Grossi, 72, of Riverside, CA, passed away 9/13/14 at Parkview Hospital, Riverside, CA. She was born 8/12/42 in Marshall, MO and lived in Riverside for 28 years. Judy grew up in Pomona, CA and spent many years in Rancho Cucamonga, raising her four children.

She was a homemaker for 51 years and served diligently as a room mother and team mom.

Judy enjoyed arts and crafts, home improvement jobs, her many cats, dogs and grandchildren. She and her daughter, Lisa, shared a birthday and enjoyed their special day together throughout the years. Sick for many years, Judy was unable to get out much, but thoroughly enjoyed hearing tales about her beloved grandchildren.

She had a fierce fighting spirit that could not be shut down. Having severe heart disease and kidney failure, she survived for several years despite being told that it was time to say “good-bye”. Anyone that knew Judy knew that she was strong-willed and seemingly resilient to pain. Her strength and determination to survive will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jim Grossi; Daughter: Lisa Le (Bruce) and their four sons, Garrett, Trevor, Benning and Maddux. Sons: Jim Grossi (Christina) and their five children, Anthony, Nico, Roman, Jimmy and Sarina. Darin Grossi (Rosela) and their three children, Christian, Justine and Matthew. Sante Grossi (Grace) and their four children, Sante, Sydney, Shelby and Alexandria. Sisters: Marjorie Aljian and Kay Greer and a brother Bud Townsend. Sisters-in-law: Olga Traverso, Ines Nelson, Frances Pertusati, Sharon Grossi and Paula Townsend. Brothers-in-law: Frank Grossi and Richard Greer. She is preceded in death by her mother, Helen Townsend.

Funeral will be held at Draper Mortuary, 811 N. Mountain Ave, Ontario, CA on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 2:00. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park, 1240 W. G St., Ontario, CA 91762.
