Kristen Lynn Saalig

Kristen Lynn Saalig, 49, resident of Celina, Ohio, passed away on August 27, 2021. She was born on July 13, 1972, at San Antonio Community Hospital in Upland, to proud parents Ed and Connie Saalig.

Kristen graduated from Upland High School. She attended Chaffey College and graduated from Citrus College with an Associates Degree in Social and Behavioral Science. She was a former Direct Support Professional at California Mentor Network and worked for Cole Vocational Services, Unlimited Quest. She worked to help deliver enriching center-based, community-based, and mobile day programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She was last employed at Benchmark Human Services in

Celina, Ohio, where she assisted clients with personal developmental and daily tasks.

Kristen was a loving and caring daughter. She was always willing to help those in need especially senior citizens. She regularly gave blood when called to donate. Her life was filled with many activities from Girl Scouts, live theater, concerts, volunteering at the Upland Animal Shelter, line dancing and church activities. She volunteered for the Upland Community Response Team. She was an avid reader of the Bible and non-fiction books and loved western music. Kristen was very close to her family and would help them when

needed. She attended the Ontario Church of the Nazarene.

Kristen is survived by her father Ed Saalig, her brother David Saalig, her Aunt Lori Markowitz and Kristen’s cousins Trevor and Micole Markowitz.
