Margaret was born on April 23, 1947, in Salem, Ohio, to parents Walter and Lena (née Weaver) Flinchbaugh. She spent her early years in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, and East Palestine, Ohio, before moving to Ontario, California, at the age of eight. She graduated from Chaffey High School in 1965 and remained a proud member of the Montclair and Ontario communities for more than 70 years.
Margaret met her husband, Michael, when he walked into her workplace one day—an ordinary moment that became the beginning of a lifelong love story. They married in 1967 and built a life centered on family, devotion, and enduring love. Margaret took immense pride in her children and family, and her love for them remained constant and unmistakable throughout her life.
Margaret devoted 25 years of faithful service as a secretary for MJ Construction Co., bringing care, dedication, and reliability to her work. She also cherished her role as a wife, mother, and homemaker, embracing each responsibility with warmth, generosity, and quiet strength.
She was an avid animal lover and shared her home and heart with many beloved pets over the years. Her compassion also extended far beyond her immediate family. Margaret had a remarkable ability to make others feel welcome and cared for, often treating friends with the same love and kindness she showed her relatives. Many people who were not related to her still felt like family because of the warmth and generosity she freely gave. She was deeply grateful for her family, friends, and the many blessings in her life.
Margaret loved listening to music, her favorites being Elvis and the oldies. She enjoyed roller skating in her youth and took great delight in bells, building a cherished collection over time. She found great enjoyment in watching films and television shows, especially classics, westerns and romances, and loved following sports, particularly baseball. She delighted in trips to Disneyland and Las Vegas when she was younger. Margaret and her husband also enjoyed attending car shows together, creating many memories through their shared love of classic automobiles.
One of Margaret’s greatest joys was finally purchasing her dream car—a gray Ford Mustang with black racing stripes. She loved driving around town in her Mustang, often with her cowboy hat in the back seat, enjoying the freedom and happiness it brought her.
Margaret found comfort and inspiration in Scripture, was involved in church for many years and supported charitable and philanthropic causes, offering her time, resources, and encouragement in ways that reflected her generous spirit and sincere kindness.
She was talented at cooking, baking and sewing and will be remembered as deeply loving, giving, funny, and kind. Her warmth, gratitude, unwavering devotion to family, and ability to make others feel loved left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She brought comfort, laughter, and steadfast support to those around her, and her memory will be treasured always.
Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael I. Jackson; her older brother, Walter “Bud” Flinchbaugh; and her parents, Walter W. and Lena E. Flinchbaugh.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Jackson; her daughter, Jessica Jackson; her younger brother, James Flinchbaugh; two grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. Though she is no longer with us in body, Margaret’s love, kindness, and gentle spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
