Maria Cruz

Maria Cruz, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and wife, passed away on April 23, 2025, at the age of 76.

Born on May 18, 1948, to Benjamin Diaz Gomez and Maria Luisa Vega Salazar (both deceased), Maria was a cherished member of a large and loving family. She was predeceased by her parents, her sons, Eduardo Cruz and Juan Armando Cruz, her daughter, Maria Del Carmen Ruiz, and her brothers, Fidel Diaz, Juan Diaz, Jaime Diaz, Pedro Diaz, Samuel Diaz, and Joaquin Diaz.

Maria is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 59 years, Juan Cruz, whom she married on July 24, 1966. She is also survived by her children: Ebelia Cruz, Ernesto Cruz, David Cruz, and Alfredo Cruz. Her sisters, Mary Anne Melgarejo, Maria Camerina Sanchez, Arcelia Huerta, and Maria Concepcion Plascencia, will also deeply miss her.

Maria's legacy continues through her many grandchildren: Brandon, Marcos, Karina Ruiz, Ernie, Vanessa, Alexis, Eric Cruz, Juan Armando Cruz Jr., Michael Le Flore, George, Carlos, Veronica Diaz, David Cruz Jr., Chelsea Cano, Marina, and Kaleb Cruz. She was also blessed with fourteen great-grandchildren.

A prayer service for Maria will be held Monday, May 12, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Draper Mortuary, 811 North Mountain Ave, Ontario, CA 91762. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Bellevue Memorial Park, 1240 W G St, Ontario, CA 91762. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 710 S Sultana Ave, Ontario, CA 91761.
