Mariam Dib de Chaij

Mariam was born April 1st, 1945, in Ma’arat Saydnaya, Damascus, Syria, where from an early age she displayed a great love and dedication to family. She was always blessed with a loving family, who imparted in her the values of hard work, respect, fairness, dignity and loyalty. She carried herself through life full of joy, humor and the values she always lived by, sharing and spreading her love for family.

She met Manuel and married in 1961. Shortly thereafter they moved to Manuel’s native Argentina and had three sons. They would travel back and forth to the United States due to Manuel’s profession till 1984, where they settled in California and pursued several entrepreneurial endeavors. They continued with different commercial ventures always accompanied by their sons.

Mariam was predeceased by her loving husband Manuel and two brothers, Antun and Yousif. She is survived by her three sons, Elias, Jorge and Manuel Jr., and nine grandchildren. She is also survived by her remaining five living siblings, Azar, Elias, Lidia, Fred and Samia. She was also loved and remembered by all her Sister-in-Laws, Cousins, Nephews, Nieces, their children and grandchildren.

Mariam died in Duarte, California, on October 3rd, 2025 at the age of 80, always a Loving Sister, Loving Wife, Loving Mother, Loving Grandmother and Loving Friend.
