Mary D'Oro Cascio

1916 - 2011 Mary died peacefully on April 11, 2011, in Montclair, California. Mary was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to Pietro D'Oro and Antonina Carlino on February 16, 1916. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carmel Francis Cascio in 1991, and her son, Patric Peter Cascio in 2007. She is survived by her son, Peter Joseph Cascio of Ontario, California; and two grandsons, Carmel and Patric Cascio of Montclair, California; and many nieces and nephews. Mary proudly served in the United States Navy from 1943-1945. She married Carmel in 1945, and they made their home in Connecticut. She was a School Teacher for 30 years, along with raising her sons. In 1987 they moved to Montclair, California. Mary enjoyed being an active member of her church, Our Lady of Lourdes, and made many dear friends there. She was very involved in the raising of her grandsons, and belonged to various community organizations. Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband in Scranton, Pennsylvania, following a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Montclair, on Friday, April 15 at 10:00 A.M.
