Mary Evelyn Tuthill

Mary Evelyn Tuthill, 85, was born May 7, 1940, in Los Angeles, California, and died March 5, 2026. She was a resident of Fontana, California. Mary was loving, direct, and single-minded, and she carried those qualities into every part of her life—especially her devotion to family and faith. After this introduction, she will be remembered as Mary.

Mary met her husband, Edward Tuthill, through a friend, and together they built a life grounded in what mattered most to her: family, grandchildren, and God. Mary was proud of their home and took special joy in her grandchildren, holding close the values that shaped her life and the legacy she leaves behind.

Mary’s talents and interests reflected her eye for beauty and her steady spirit. She had a gift for hairstyling, fashion, and makeup, and she loved spending time at the swimming pool, at church, hair dressing, in her garden, and with photography. Her favorite colors were orange, red, blue, and purple, and she especially loved spiritual music. Her favorite meal and snack included fish, vegetables, potatoes, and yogurt.

Mary’s faith was an important part of her life and community. She was involved with Church (Rock of Faith), where her devotion and gratitude were evident. Among the words that captured her outlook were “Ages and Stages” and “Praise the Lord.”

Mary was preceded in death by Edward Tuthill (husband), Danny Walton, Alan Tuthill, Earl Walton (ex-husband), John Buchanan (dad), John (brother), Virginia Huddleston (mom), and sisters Cathy, Diane, Sissy, and Carol.

Mary is survived by Rodney, Howard, and Billy Walton; Ann, Clair, Catherine, Barra, and Jamie Walton; Ashley, Nicole, Damien, and Junior Walton; Danielle, April, Mary, Joyce, Virginia, Chanette, Jacob, Russell Walton; Bobby and Dawn Tuthill; Sabrina, Brett, and Ryan Tuthill; and brother-in-law Jess Tuthill. Elizabeth Buchanan, Tucker, and David Huddleston. As well as her great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at Draper Mortuary, 811 North Mountain Ave, Ontario, CA 91762, on March 25, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A Committal Service will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park, 1240 W G St, Ontario, CA 91762, on March 25, 2026, from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm.
