Micaela, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend, passed away on March 8, 2025, at 89. She was the mother of ten children, each carrying a piece of her spirit in their hearts.
Life was not always easy, and she divided herself between life in Mexico and the United States, but Micaela did her best with the tools she had. One of the greatest ways she expressed her care was through her cooking. She had a gift for making every meal feel like a feast, turning the simplest ingredients into something unforgettable. Her food brought comfort, warmth, and a sense of home to those lucky to share a meal with her, a skill that was passed on to her daughters, who all inherited her cooking abilities.
She also had a passion for swap meets and yard sales, where she could hunt for hidden treasures, often coming home with a colorful National Geographic book or German Crystal Beer Mugs, which were among her multitude of knickknack collections; she found joy in the little things.
Though her journey as a mother was not without its challenges, she left a legacy of resilience that instilled in her children independence and an appreciation for one another. Her strength and determination will not be forgotten; she will be remembered in the stories, laughter, and memories shared by her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by a large immediate family that includes her children: Ruby, Ramon, Lourdes, Janci, Dalia, Louie, Alex, Briz, Marcos, and Mickey. She is reunited in peace with those who passed before her.
