Michelle Lynn DeHoog

Michelle was born on September 18, 1966 in California to Mitch and Mary DeHoog. At the age of 5 she was in an accident that changed her life and ended up confined to a wheelchair. Despite her circumstances, she always made the best of everything and faced life with gratitude and determination. Her disability did not stop her. She drove, traveled, got her bachelors degree and ended up with a career as an lead eligibility worker with the County of San Bernardino.

Her faith was most important to her, and she displayed it daily. She spent years dedicating her time and talents to the children's ministry at her church. And most recently the Sunshine Club at Inland Christian Home. Her cheerful, positive presence and her thoughtfulness of others left a lasting impression on those lucky enough to know her.

Michelle found joy in the simple things in life. She loved all genres of music, and was not afraid to play them loudly. Def Leppard was her favorite band, and she knew every ABBA song lyric. She loved crafting, watching Hallmark movies, going to concerts and spending time with those she loved. She loved a good filet mignon, and a good cup of coffee.

She also loved to bake. She spoiled her family and friends with all types of cookies, cakes and amazing desserts. Her sourdough bread was a special treat. She shared love, comfort and care through her baking, and always made you feel welcome.

Her favorite name was Auntie, and she was a great one. All her nieces and nephews have their own special memories with Auntie Shell. She was the aunt that went to all the school programs and sporting events. She participated in all the fundraisers, helped with school projects and homework. Most importantly she kept them covered in prayer.

Life was not easy for her. She had more than her fair share of health issues, broken bones and hospital stays, but she never complained, and during these times she was an inspiration to others. She would be the first to tell you she had an amazing village, and was so thankful for all the love she was surrounded with.

She is survived by her father Mitch DeHoog(Joanne), Brothers Joe(Joy) DeHoog, Charles(Annette) DeHoog and Mike DeHoog, Sisters LeAnn DeHoog and Kris DeHoog, 8 nieces, 5 nephews and 6 great nieces and 1 great nephew.

She was preceded in death by her Mother Mary DeHoog and

Grandparents Joe & Tryne DeHoog, Charlie and Lena VanDerKooi.

We have no doubt she was greeted with a resounding "Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant".
