Born in Fresno, California on August 28, 1937, Myril spent most of her young life on a ranch in Yuma, Arizona. Her family moved back to California when she was 11 and lived on a farm off Haven Avenue in Ontario. She considered herself a country girl and loved her family with such passion and protectiveness. She always put them first. As the oldest of 7 brothers and sisters, she was not afraid of hard work. She married at 15 and had 3 children by the age of 20. She worked for Fruehauf Trucking Company and then for radio Evangelist Dan Gilbert as secretary then became a homemaker when her youngest began school. She gave her heart to Christ at 15 and served in the Ontario Foursquare Church as teacher, sang in the choir and even made a record with the choir in 1966. She was always there to help and her children went with her everywhere. She didn't own her own car until the age of 54 and finally got her GED at the age of 60.
Her final years were spent at Upland Rehab & Care Facility where she was loved and cared for in such a special way that words cannot express. Her sight was gone and most of her hearing; her boys and 1 granddaughter have gone on before her too, but she never complained and always wanted her family around her until her last breath. She lived for today and loved the Lord with all her heart. She prayed daily for all her family and trusted God for the answer to all her prayers even if the answer was no! Survived by her daughter Carol and son-in-law Ronald Riphagen, 6 granddaughters, 1 grandson, sister LillyMae and brother-in-law Clifford Gross of Nevada, brother William Morgan and sister-in-law Patty of California, Sister-in-law Shirley Hester of California, Brother-in-law Wilbur Hester of Texas, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
2 Corinthians 5:6-8 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
