Born to Fred and Gladys Wynn, Pansy was raised in the Free Will Baptist Church of which her father was an ordained minister. Pansy answered her call to service at the age of 12 and dedicated herself to be a child of God at that time.
While still in High School Pansy taught in the Primary Department of the church she was attending at that time. After High School she worked to support herself while attending Business College in Springfield, Missouri. After her formal education, at the age of 16, she went to work as a secretary at the School of the Ozarks, an later moved to Mtn. Grove, Missouri where she worked as a private secretary for the Brown Shoe. Co. In 1946, Pansy married Carl G. Cravens and in 1952 they moved to California. Pansy took employment as a secretary in the Social Service Department at Pacific State Hospital where she worked until their second child, Lynette, was born.
When Carl and Pansy first moved to California there was no Free Will Baptist Church in the Ontario vicinity so they drove 35 miles to Huntington Park to attend worship service. In 1954, after much prayer ad hard work, the first Free Will Baptist Church of Ontario was organized and, of course, Carl and Pansy were among the 23 charter members. Pansy always took a serious part in church activity and was a teacher, except for a short time, since the church was organized. She held several offices as president of League and Sunday School Secretary , President of the West Coast District Ladies Auxiliary, Secretary and treasurer of the local Ladies Auxiliary, Church Clerk and of course Sunday School teacher. Although this detailed account of Pansy's life accomplishments can never do Pansy justice it is the hope of the family to have brought light upon a few of the many endeavors of this steward in the house of God.
Pansy is survived by son Cleon (Cindy) Cravens; and son Wendell (Angie) Cravens; grandchild Chris, grandchild Carey, grandchild Bryce, grandchild Brandon, grandchild Rachel and grandchild April.
