Mr. and Mrs. Arma V. Strong, Sr. were blessed upon the arrival of Patricia Strong on August 24, 1961 in Tucson, Arizona. She entered into rest on August 23, 2020 in Victorville, California. Although we long for her earthly presence, she completed her life’s course and God took her home. To be absent from this body, is to be present with the Lord.
Patricia received her early education in the Tucson Unified School District, graduating from Cholla High School in 1979. After graduation she moved to Los Angeles, California for better opportunities and to help her Aunt Vickie. Patricia eventually met the love of her life Mathew Inyard. God blessed Mathew and Patricia (in this life) with 37 celebrated years together in which they brought out the best in each other as well as raised their children: Mathew Jr., Shavontae, Alexandria, Brandon, and Samerah.
The name Patricia means ‘victorious’. Her covenant promise from God was that she would be victorious in all she did. And she believed God’s promise. This truly describes how Patricia lived her life. She never let her circumstances define her or allow anyone to limit her from achieving what she desired to do. In 2000, she became a successful owner of Strong Family Childcare. Through the years she helped raise and motivate over a 100 children. For 18 years she served as the Vice President of the Victor Valley Childcare Association. In addition, she hosted Japanese and Chinese foreign exchange students for several years.
Patricia had a passion for life and a deep love for her family, friends, and all of the children she cared for. She never met a stranger. When you came to her home, you were family. She always made sure her loved ones were cared for and protected. This was evident by her many acts of kindness and her stern rebuke to anyone who caused trouble for her loved ones. Patricia would light up a room and shift the atmosphere. She loved music, dancing, and having fun. She wanted everyone around her to win and she treasured celebrating their accomplishments.
Patricia loved the Lord. Patricia was a member of Friendly Temple Church of God in Christ, led by Bishop Roger Thomas, for approximately 20 years. In addition, she faithfully supported Jericho of Hope of Tucson Pastored by her brother Chad Strong.
She was preceded in death by her dad Mr. Arma V. Strong, Sr., brother Michael Strong and grandson Auvont Simms.
Patricia will be deeply missed and her memories will be cherished by: her husband, Mathew Inyard, five children, Mathew Inyard Jr., Shavontae Strong, Alexandria Inyard, Brandon Inyard and Samerah Strong; one grandson, AuShaundric Simms; three God children, Miesha Williams, Vincent Inyard, and Zion Lyons; mother, Patsy R. Strong-Hall; two sisters, Opal N. Strong and Renita Strong (Milton); four brothers, Gary Strong (Radine), Arma V. Strong, Jr. (Karla), Troy Strong, and Chad Strong, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many other friends she considered to be family.
Patricia’s legacy will live on through the many lives she touched and cared for. Her wit, humor, strong character, kind heart and faith will be dearly missed! Patricia, we love you, we celebrate you, and we thank God He gave us the opportunity to journey in life with you!
