Ramona Favela-Barreda

Visitation is Wednesday, February 8, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 pm and the Rosary at 6:00 pm at Draper Chapel in Ontario. Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Upland.

Grandma Ramona was born February 28, 1923 in Gallop, New Mexico, and later moved to South Gate, California in 1965. She was preceded in death by her parents, Trinidad Miranda and Carmen De La Torre and her sister, Inez Ponce, and three son-in-laws. Ramona was a nurse’s aid for St. Francis Hospital in Lynwood, CA for 22 years. She enjoyed knitting/crocheting for her family and friends, watching old movies and TV shows and she always enjoyed a trip to Disneyland.

Survivors include her nine children, son Antonio Rodella and wife Letty; daughter Raquel Rios; Jacobo Favela, Jr. and wife Maria Elena; daughter Lupe Zavala; son Louie Mendoza; son Ricardo Favela, Sr. and wife Francella; daughter Josefina Garcia; son Raul Favela and wife Annette; and son Fidel Miranda and wife Wendy. Grandma Ramona was blessed with 34 grandchildren; 80 great-grandchildren; and 8 great great grandchildren.

Arrangements will be handled by Drapers Mortuary, 811 N. Mountain Avenue, Ontario, California 91762.
