Ray Marquez, 96, was born on June 6, 1930, in Ontario, California, and passed away on July 10, 2026. Ray resided in Montclair, California. He will be remembered with deep respect for a life marked by steady devotion, quiet strength, and a loving presence that brought comfort to those around him.
Ray was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Korea, and he worked most of his life as an Automotive Mechanic. In both service and work, he carried himself with calm assurance—dependable, capable, and consistently positive in the way he met each day and the people in it. He was also a faithful parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Montclair, CA for 70 years.
Ray met his wife, Sally Marquez, at a carnival, a beginning that spoke to the simple, memorable turns of life that become lifelong treasures. He remained deeply proud of his family and grandchildren, holding them close at the center of what mattered most.
Sports were Ray’s favorite hobby, and he especially loved Rosarito Beach. Gifted with a special talent for singing, he also found joy in music—salsa, mariachi, jazz, and rock n’ roll among his favorites. He had an easy, cool way about him, and those who knew him will recall the calm warmth he brought into a room. Ray’s favorite color was blue, and his favorite meal was a steak.
Ray was preceded in death by Sally Marquez (wife), Raymundo Marquez (father), Natalia Garcia Marquez (mother), Alicia and Esther (sisters), and Manuel and Tony (brothers).
