I wonder what you’re doing
what new things did you learn today
and how did you sleep last night
did you feel raindrops on your face
or sunshine in your eye
of all the questions left unknown
the biggest one is why
why can’t we be together
why can’t I watch you grow older
why can’t you guide me through this world
this I just don’t know
but I promise we’ll be together
no matter how long it seems
just know your always in my heart
and always in my dreams.
Who was Raymundo Gonzalez, 101 aliases Ray, Raysito, Negrito to his mother, brothers ,and sisters, Perrito to his loving wife, daddy to his children, and Paparazzi, Canelo, Sycodelico, and Toro to our friends. Ray was born on August 26, 1952 in the city of Chihuhua, Mexico. He was known as a son, husband, father, friend, teacher, and a handyman for all... If we can sum up in one word who he was he was LOVE. He adapted to everyone’s character. His joyous charisma and spunk made everyone fall in love with him. He was an over achiever no matter what life through at him. He strived to always give 110% of what he did. He would always find the door and a way out, if he didn’t find it he would break it or make one up. His thirst for knowledge and wisdom never ceased or was quenched. At a very young age he learned the art of construction by on hands experience. Ray was never a selfish man, what he learned, he shared with other. Over 20 years many men learned the trade of construction through his hands. After unable to work in this industry, at the age 42, Ray decided to get into the Real Estate. Since he would no longer be able to build homes he decided to sale homes. Ray studied hard to take his Real Estate exam, after various attempts, he passed and became a proud Real Estate Agent. One thing our father taught us was not to give up. Our daddy had a huge interest for technology and electronics, this man would go online and self-educate himself on how to fix computers and fix from old school TV'S to top of the line LCD flat screens. His shop was our garage; we would walk into his shop and see him sitting on a rolling office chair sliding from one side to another working on his projects. On one side of the garage on top of the table he would have his 64" LCD flat screen with the back of the TV exposed, all we would see is panels and panels of who know what, only he knew what was up. On the other side of the garage you would see 5 or 6 computer or laptops in the same condition, wires and hard drive exposed. It would take him a while but the job would get done. Anytime, any of my sisters, brother or myself would buy a new camera, TV, DVD, cell phone etc. We would be afraid to show dad, his eyes would light up and would want to open and dissect the electronic devise. Dad was one to fix things that were not broken!
Ray and Alicia married on October 4, 1970. His Perrita, his Reina, his Narisona can proudly say they celebrated their 40th years anniversary, that in itself is a blessing and shows the dedication our daddy had for his family. In 1972 Ray and Alicia had a beautiful little girl and named her Veronica Irene aka (Little Mama), two years later they had another beautiful little girl and named her Socorro Erika aka (La Chinita), then in 1976 they scored again, another beautiful little girl was born and named her Elizabeth aka (La Negrita). The crazy thing was 10 years later they decided to add to the family and added another beautiful daughter, Nataly. After having 4 girls, they decided that they would not attempt to try for the boy anymore, because they could not risk having another girl. We all know girls are trouble! Well, 2 years later coming back from Las Vegas they had an accident and yup, an addition to the Gonzalez family, “FINALLY”, our handsome brother was born, Raymond JR. Thank god for that boy because who knows how many more sister we would have had. To our daddy his girls were his diamonds and his son was his pride and joy.
Our father was the foundation, the rock to this family. He was a great son and brother, a fabulous husband, an extraordinary father but most of all he was a phenomenal, exceptional, remarkable grandfather to our children. The honest truth is that I really have no words to say how much our father loved our children.
Our father was an adventurous man he loved to travel, loved the adrenaline. Anytime he would hear that someone or anyone was going on a road trip, he was the first one to invite himself! As a young man he loved water skiing, camping etc.He loved being surrounded by his family and friends. About 3 years ago, his brother Rudy Gonzalez, invited him to go dirt bike riding and quad riding, somewhere in the high desert. Of course our father could not pass up that opportunity. Ray was not one to take it easy knowing his medical conditions. He choose to ride up the steepest mountain he could possible find, he managed to flip that quad onto himself, luckily he only suffered from major bruising and internal bleeding to his leg, it could have been worse but that did not stop him from going back again and again. This man would go as fast as the quad can possibly go and drift his quad!! He had no fear.
Our father was loved by many people!
I will ask that everyone celebrate his life and relationships we had with him, material things may come and go but no one or thing will rob us from what we shared with him.
We love you Daddy, Husband, Friend, Brother ,and Son.
From Ray:
To my dear family,
I'm sending this from above,
That even though I'm gone from earth,
I can still feel your love, do
And all the times we spent together,
Growing a love that would last forever,
Are times that will never leave,
Because you remember me.
I'm sorry about the timing,
For I didn't want to leave,
But god called me home,
So I fell into eternal sleep.
There was so much left to do here,
Cause god took me quite young,
I had a loving family,
And so much to teach my son.
I'm sure you all can make it,
you have god by your side,
And just to let you know,
I'm enjoying this long heavenly Harley ride.
If any of you ever need me,
Just close your eyes and I'll be there,
I'll help you through your life,
If you remember how much I cared.
I want you all to know today,
That I love you very much,
And even though I'm gone from earth,
I can still feel your love.
