So many memories from my childhood..."Dicky" as I called him was my Godfather. When I was younger I got to go on lots of adventures with Dicky and my Dad, David DeMauro. They took me to the shop where I got to get soda out of the machine that came in a glass bottle. Sunkist was my favorite. I loved going to the shop with them. It used to be on the airport so I could sit in the hangar and watch the planes takeoff and land. They took me flying. He took me for rides in the jeep on dirt roads. They let me hand them tools when they were working on something. They took me to the auto parts store, which I thought was the best place ever. Later I remember going to his parents house sometimes on weekends and enjoying the amazing treats his Dad would make. Many 4th of July BBQ's with him smoking delicious tri tip. My son Andrew took a picture of Dicky's car when he was 5 to enter into the LA County Fair. He wanted to set up the camera on a tripod and sit inside the car with his sister. I didn't want him climbing on the upholstery. Dicky said, "Let him do it how he wants." He won the sweepstakes prize! I am grateful for the time I got to spend with him. Prayers for Petrina, Christine, John and Baby Tyler.

There are so many shared fun times to remember, car shows, Ontario Police Museum Board, Ontario-Montclair Rotary, the “Legion “ and more. But the best was a lunch at Nancy’s with fellow veteran buddies sharing Vietnam war stories, growing up stuff, Ontario happings, and just being together enjoying friendship.
