In the early 1940's, the Price family moved to California and settled in Ontario. His father Ralph opened Price's Garage on East California.
Richard graduated from Chaffey High School in 1959, and after graduating, served in the U.S. Army at Ft. Ord and Camp Roberts for six years.
After returning home, he worked at gas stations and found his calling as an auto mechanic. He eventually took over the family business and continued to run Price's Garage until it sold in 2019. He never used the fancy equipment. Old tools and using hands were best.
In 1974, he married Ruby Lee Youngblood. Together, they had one daughter, Carrie Lynne.
In his free time, Richard could be found doing his favorite thing, stream fishing in the High Sierra's for rainbow trout to share with family and friends. He also loved to watch old John Wayne westerns and TV shows. If there was a good Angels baseball game on, he would be watching it.
He was a self-taught handyman. If a plumbing or electrical issue came up, he could be seen working on it. He also liked to keep the yard looking nice.
He enjoyed traveling although he never flew anywhere. Whether it was to the mountains, National Parks, or up the coast, he enjoyed exploring.
When his daughter went to Chaffey High and was in band, he was there helping out, traveling, and videoing every moment. Those four years were happy times!
Richard is preceded in death by his parents and half-brother Guy E. Ferguson of Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his daughter Carrie Burke (Rich), sisters Barbara Armijo and Betty McArthur (Gerald), brothers Jimmy, Donnie, and Jerry (Sherry), ex-wife Ruby Resnik, grandson Ryley, granddaughter Alexis, and many nieces and nephews.
