Robert Lloyd Nelson

Robert L. Nelson, 71, of Ontario died at his home on October 12. Robert, the son of William & Glenice Nelson, was born on June 22, 1946 at San Antonio Community Hospital in Upland. As a lifelong resident of Ontario, he was a graduate of Chaffey High School and he accumulated numerous fond memories, witnessing the evolution of the Inland Empire from the 1950s through the modern era. He retired in 2003 from Exide Technologies (formally GNB Batteries) and was an avid collector & restorer of antiques, specializing in telephones and typewriters.

Robert is survived by his wife of 42 years, Peggy Nelson, his brother William Nelson of Tucson, AZ, his son Robert W. Nelson of Riverside, his four daughters: Kimberly Frost of Fontana, Julie Scott of Lake Havasu, AZ, Lisa Ollerdessen of Carson City, NV, Lori Nelson of Red Bluff; 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Draper Mortuary in Ontario.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Draper Mortuary.

Private interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park.
