Rosalvina Toledo de Villegas

Mejor conocida como Rosina por sus amigos, Rosina nació el 21 de octubre de 1936 en Rosario, Sinaloa, México. Hija de Loreto Toledo y Agustina González, creció rodeada de sus 11 cariñosos hermanos.

Cariñosamente conocida como “Bita” por sus nietos y bisnietos, Rosina era más feliz cuando estaba en el casino, tejiendo o bordando. Siempre decía al regresar del casino: “No gané, pero como me divertí.” Cuando tejia o bordaba, siempre tenía la tele prendida de fondo para hacerle compañía. Siempre estaba pendiente de los chismes del Gordo Y La Flaca. Y, por supuesto, nunca le faltaba su cafecito y pan por la mañana. Rosina le tenía mucha fe a San Judas Tadeo y siempre, al salir de la casa, nos daba la bendición y nos decía: “Que San Juditas Tadeo te proteja.” Rosina tenía una personalidad fuerte, y su voz siempre se hacía escuchar, llenando con su presencia cualquier espacio en el que se encontrara.

Le sobreviven sus 6 hijos, nietos y bisnietos, quienes siempre atesorarán las lecciones, las risas y el amor que ella les brindó generosamente.

La familia invita a todos sus seres queridos a acompañarnos para recordar y honrar a Rosina el martes 23 de septiembre de 2025 de 5:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m. El servicio se llevará a cabo en Draper Mortuary. La misa se celebrará el Miércoles 24 de septiembre de 2025 a las 11:00 a.m. en Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

With deep sorrow, the family of Rosalvina Toledo de Villegas announces her passing on September 15, 2025, at the age of 88. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones.

Better known as Rosina by her friends, Rosina was born on October 21, 1936, in Rosario, Sinaloa, Mexico. Daughter of Loreto Toledo and Agustina González, she grew up surrounded by her 11 loving siblings.

Affectionately known as “Bita” by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Rosina was happiest when she was at the casino, knitting or doing embroidery. She would always say upon returning from the casino: “I didn’t win, but oh, how much fun I had.” When she knitted or embroidered, she always had the TV on in the background to keep her company. She always kept up with the gossip on El Gordo y La Flaca. And of course, she never went without her morning coffee and bread. Rosina had great faith in St. Jude Thaddeus, and every time we left the house, she would give us her blessing and say: “May St. Jude Thaddeus protect you.”

Rosina had a strong personality, and her voice could always be heard, filling any space she was in with her presence.

She is survived by her 6 children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will forever treasure the lessons, laughter, and love she gave so generously.

The family invites all loved ones to join us in remembering and honoring Rosina on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Draper Mortuary. A Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
