Ryan was born to Dennis Wiltsey and Lisa Fitch on February 14th, 1979. He would quickly become the oldest of three young boys born to Dennis and Lisa, and his family would continue to grow when Lisa re-married to Kenneth Fitch in 1988, and again when Ryan’s beloved little sister Kenanne was born in 1993. Even from his youth, Ryan’s love and dedication to family radiated in everything that he did.
Anyone who knew Ryan knew that he was a fighter. When diagnosed with an aggressive form of Leukemia at the young age of fifteen, Ryan fought his way back to perfect physical health. After fighting cancer, Ryan graduated early and went on to tackle college classes in criminal justice and multiple law-enforcement certifications. Ryan always wanted a career in law enforcement, and soon became a Correctional Officer and then a Parole Agent; he served with unwavering commitment. Ryan's devotion to law enforcement will forever be etched in the hearts of those he served with.
But Ryan's true passion and joy came from his role as a loving husband to Nancy Wiltsey, and as a devoted and loving father to his only son, Chase Wiltsey. Chase was and always will be Ryan’s true joy, and there has never been a father with greater love for his son than Ryan’s love for Chase. Theirs is a bond that defies mortality, a bond that will last forever as a testament to the eternal bond between Father and Son, and a love so great that it will continue to guide and inspire Chase in all of the years to come.
Over the past eighteen months, Ryan and Chase had found God together, favoriting the Calvary Chapel Church of La Verne California. Faith was an integral part of Ryan’s life, and he found strength and fellowship within the walls of the church, and peace in having accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior.
Ryan Wiltsey leaves behind a legacy of love, honor, and selflessness. While we mourn his physical absence, we celebrate a life filled with an enduring love for family and friends. In this time of grief, let us all remember the joy, happiness, laughter, and love that Ryan brought into all of our lives, and the enormous impact he made on all of us who had the privilege of loving him.
Our family extends their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. A memorial service to celebrate Ryan's life will be held on April 5th at 11am at the Calvary Chapel Church in La Verne, California. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the “Cure Childhood Cancer Foundation” at http://curechildhoodcancer.org or “Calvary Chapel Church” at http://cclaverne.com/take in Ryan's honor.
May the memory of Ryan be a source of comfort and inspiration to us all, for we testify that his soul has at last found eternal peace in the arms of his Savior.
