SHIRLEY "TRINK" AYERS 1923 - 2011 The beloved Shirley "Trink" Ayers passed away at her home on January 2, 2011. Born September 30, 1923 in Sterling, CO, Shirley moved to Ontario as a young girl and resided in Upland for the past 52 years. She graduated from Chaffey High School in 1941 and married her knight in shining armor, Gordon Ayers, in 1943, playing out the most amazing love story for the past 67 years. Shirley and Gordon worked together in a photographic career ending with the sale of their camera shops in 1980. For over 40 years, Shirley was an active member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Ontario where, among other things, she served as a Deacon and coordinated funeral and wedding receptions. She was also a proud member of the Foothill Chapter of the National Charity League as well as a board member for West End Family Counseling Services. More than anything, Shirley cherished her role as wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, giving those who knew her the amazing gift of love, laughter, and faith. She will be greatly missed and live forever in our hearts. Shirley is survived by her husband, Gordon; daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Dave Laycock; four grandchildren Jan Jin (Eric), Ali Kruze (Kevin), Eric Laycock (Kara), and Kevin Laycock (Teresa); seven great grandchildren; and many special friends and loved ones.
