Shirley Nelson was born on January 15, 1945 to Lennie Woods and the late Alma Richardson in Detroit, MI. She was the eldest of five siblings. Shirley united in marriage to the late Freddie Lee Nelson on August 9, 1975. She was a devoted mother, sister, aunt and friend who loved to laugh. Shirley was known for her family gatherings and celebrations. She was a great listener and an even better talker. Shirley was a woman in charge and anybody who knew her knew she was going to tell the truth. She was loved and cherished by all who knew her and was held at a high regard by many. Shirley departed this world on November 12, 2015. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Sean Darrington Jefferson, Brian Keith Jefferson and one granddaughter London Victoria Jefferson, three brothers, James Hughey of Camden, AR, Young Cleveland Woods of Rialto, CA, Ricky Woods of Moreno Valley, CA , Linda Foster of Corona, CA and a slew of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
