Spencer graduated from Hempstead High School in Hempstead, NY. He was instrumental in starting the Youth Christ service program at the Progressive Holiness church where his father was Pastor. While in New York he tried to find his footing in the stock market but later became a conductor with the Long Island Railroad. He ventured to a few other states, working at a radio station in South Carolina, reporting the weather in North Carolina, before deciding to head west to California. Once in California he felt the sky was the limit. His love of Gospel music inspired him to establish Collage, a choir group he formed as a way of bringing the community together. He worked for Greyline tours, showing tourists the sites of Hollywood, however his passion was real estate. After obtaining his real estate license, he and his partner started a real estate company named Tri-City Services, located in San Bernardino, CA. This venture was very important and meant the world to him. During this venture, he dabbled in the limousine service business which led to his employment with Diversified Pacific. This is where Spencer came into his own, his journey with Diversified led him to obtaining his broker’s license, another accomplishment met. This time in his life was fulfilled with a sense of belonging, importance and great value. His final employment journey was with National Community Renaissance where he assisted the property management team in the leasing office at his place of residence.
The many things learned, the endeavors conquered and friends made were never lost on him. All were true treasures.
He is survived by his wife Gwendolyn, sisters Wanda and Regina, his beloved children, Donna, Delysia, Princess, Nichole, Brandon, and Summerilee, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Bishop Henry Lee Brown, mother Ernestine Brown and brother Marcus Brown.
A father’s spirit will forever be your guiding light, a brother’s love will never be lost and a loyal friend that was constant and unwavering. Spencer leaves behind a legacy of love and memories to all those whom he graced with his presence.
His life was filled with many adventures and yes many challenges. And as he would so eloquently say, he took each “One Day at a Time”.
A visitation for Spencer will be held Friday, November 8, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Draper Mortuary, 811 North Mountain Ave, Ontario, CA 91762.
