

Stanley W. Marquardt 84, lost his battle with cancer on the morning of March 14th, 2026, at Redlands Community Hospital. Stanley was born on August 10th, 1941, in Monroeville, Indiana, the son of Marcus Wayne and Mable Maria (Webster) Marquardt.
Stan left home to join the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17. He served in the Philippines, Japan, and Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base, California from October 1958 to November 1962. On August 4th, 1962, Stan married the love of his life Charlotte Kay Alexander, of Ontario, California, daughter of Dick and Imodine Alexander. Stan and Kay originally settled in Ontario, then Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley, and eventually settled in Redlands, California in 1984.
Stan was a Contractor and Engineer by trade and worked 26 years for General Telephone & Electronics (GTE) of Southern California and various telecommunication companies until retirement. In the High Dessert, Stan was known as a little league coach in Joshua Tree, he and Kay were avid tennis players, and Stan rode dirt bikes, was a volunteer Search and Rescue Officer for the San Bernardino Sheriff Department, a hunter, and a trap and skeet shooter. Stan was also a founding member of the Hi Desert Rod and Gun Club and was critical in the development of the Hi Desert Rod and Gun Club shooting range in Morongo Valley on Hwy 62. Stan is a member of the Redlands American Legion, Post 106. Stan was
also an avid racing fan of Nascar and Formula 1. He also often took his love driving to the streets and highways, with his Porsche named “Tank”, as a member of the Porsche Club of California-Riverside Region.
In addition to his parents, Marcus and Mable, he was preceded in death by his wife Kay and Brother Samuel J. Marquardt (wife Judith) of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Surviving is his sister Sally A. Byer of Fort Wayne, Indiana, son Scott and (wife) Julie Marquardt of Winchester, California (children Alex and [wife] Michelle Marquardt [grandchildren Elliot, Kaydence, and Charlie] of Winchester, California, Kyle and [wife] Ashley Marquardt [grandchildren Jackson and Owen] of Menifee, California, and Jacob Marquardt of Austin, Texas). And son Marcus and (wife) Kimberle Marquardt of Anaheim, California [children Jonathan Marquardt of Ontario, California and Weston Marquardt [grandchild Kiana] of Redlands, California) and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service in honor of Stanley Marquardt will be held at Draper Mortuary, 811 North Mountain Ave, Ontario, California, 91762, on May 1st, 2026 from 10am to 11am.
A committal service will be held immediately after, at Bellview Memorial Park, 1240 W G St. Ontario, CA. 91762, on May 1st, 2026 from 11:30 to 12:30.
