

It is with much sorrow that we announce that our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and mother-in-law, Teresa Pinheiro Alves, passed into eternal life on Sunday, January 14, 2018. Teresa was born to Joao and Carolina Pinheiro, on December 16, 1929, on the island of Terceira, Azores, Portugal. On October 31, 1947, she married her beloved husband, Leonel (Lee) Vieira Alves. She was a resident of Chino for 60 years and a parishioner at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. In addition to being a homemaker, she was very involved in her church, the Chino Valley DES Club, the Chino 4-H Club, as well as civic activities with her husband Lee.
Teresa and Lee raised three daughters, Elaine DaValle, Teresa Schrenker (Hank), and Lillian Rutledge (John). In addition to her three daughters, Teresa is survived by her eight grandchildren, Christina DaValle O’Connell (Bret), Nicholas DaValle, Vanessa DaValle Gomez (Gil); Erica and Caroline Schrenker; Elizabeth, Lauren and James Rutledge; and two great-grandchildren, Rylen and Savannah Gomez. She is also survived by her brother, Telmo Pinheiro and her nieces Thelma Pinheiro Rocha and Teresa Carlisle. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her son-in-law, Danny DaValle.
Visitation will take place on January 18, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., followed by recitation of the Rosary, at Draper Mortuary, 811 N. Mountain Avenue, Ontario, California. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018, at St Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 12686 Central Avenue, Chino, California, followed by interment at Bellevue Mausoleum, 1240 W. G Street, Ontario, California.
