Some of Tom’s fondest memories growing up were from the love he had for his grandma Emily and his step-dad Dusty Ira Rhodes. He enlisted in the United States Navy on June 19, 1961 and proudly served on the USS Robison until his honorable discharge on June 18, 1967. Tom met the love of his life when she was hired at Hewlett Packard and he saw her walking through the plant, he told her later that he knew he would marry her someday. He and Marilyn were married on June 7, 1969 and were inseparable, loving each other fiercely through 51 years of marriage. Tom was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandpa, and a beloved papa. His family was his life. He taught his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to be kind, be helpful, to always have time to listen, to always have faith, and most importantly- to love your family. Tom made his family feel protected, supported, included, and most importantly- loved unconditionally. The world is a little more empty without Tom in it, but in his honor our family will carry on his legacy.
