December 9, 1928‐August 15, 2018
Age 89, of Fontana, CA, passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of August 15,
2018, entering into Heaven to the warm embrace of our Heavenly Father. Born and raised in Ontario
and Upland, CA, and recently a resident of Annie’s Haven in Fontana, CA. He is preceded in death by his
Wife Diana, Sister Wanda Shinn‐Fluallen, Mother Aline and Father Lloyd, Father and Mother in Law Paul
and Eleanor Pratt. He is survived by his Son Stephen (Meredith), (Granddaughter Crystlle), Daughter
Linda Reiss (Rob), (Grandson’s Cameron & Matthew), Son Paul (JoCecelia), (Granddaughter Cherie),
Daughter Laura Henson (Richard), (Granddaughters, Courtney, Amber, Faith), Sister Marcia Laycock,
Brother Charles (Mary), Brother in Law Don Pratt (Linda), Sister in Law Paula Blatz, and many Cousins,
Nieces, Nephews, and Friends Leann & Todd Marshall.
He was Honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1952 at the Rank of Corporal, having served
overseas in Korea with the 6th Infantry Division in the Korean War. As a Graduate of Chaffey High,
Chaffey College, and College of the Pacific with a Masters in English, he enjoyed a 36 year career in the
Ontario Montclair School District as a Grade School Teacher, retiring from Mission Elementary School,
and inspired many past students and numerous Family members to become Educators in their own
right.
More importantly he was a believer and Christian Man of deep Faith accepting Jesus Christ as his
personal Lord and Savior in his early 30’s, and was a wonderful example of God’s Grace, love and plan
for us and others he met, right up until the end.
A Service with full Military Honors will be held on Wednesday September 5, 2018 at 2PM, at Riverside
National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd. Riverside, CA 92518.

Lastly, although he will be missed immeasurably by his Family and Friends, his Life and Memories will
live on forever, through and by all of us who were blessed to have had him in our lives.
