Willemke was born on October 16, 1930, in the Netherlands, to parents Willem & Berbera. She carried a pride in her Dutch heritage throughout her life and remained, in every sense, “100% Dutch.”
Those who knew Willemke will remember a gentle presence and a love that was steady, quiet, and enduring. She was a devoted wife and mother, and in the lives she touched most closely, she was deeply beloved.
Willemke found simple, lasting delights in the rhythms of everyday life. Camping trips, reading the newspaper, and visits to her favorite place, the Eastern Sierra Mountains were among her many joys. She enjoyed Dutch treats and took special pride in her husband’s woodworking, appreciating the care and craftsmanship behind what he made.
Her faith also shaped her days, and she was involved at church, where her consistent devotion reflected the same calm strength and warmth that defined her life.
Willemke is survived by her children Jan MacLeane, William MacLeane, and Barbara Rodgers, grandchildren Albert, Gerrit, and Sherri, and great grandchildren Joslin, Shayne, Jessica, and Alyssa.
Though she will be missed dearly, her memory and legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
