Born December 31, 1936, in New Franklin, Ohio, he was the son of the late Forest and Minnie Fearn.
Cliff attended Ohio University earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked in the telecommunications field for various businesses and later worked in marketing. He worked at Martin Marietta and participated in the Apollo project for NASA.
He was active and athletically talented. He enjoyed playing baseball and softball resulting in winning many awards for coaching the Galion’s women’s league bringing them to win the region seven award in 1978. He was also a very talented golfer and won many trophies and awards for these accomplishments. He attended Crossroads Church in Ontario and B.P.O.E. (Elks).
Cliff married the love of his life, Shirley Wiley, on August 11, 1957, and they were blessed with a wonderful marriage and life. They especially enjoyed dancing together. He was a storyteller and entertained his children and grandchildren with stories of the “good old days”. Cliff will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Shirley Fearn; four children, Todd (Gina) Fearn, Scott (Kerstin Osadchey, Kristin Calcara) Fearn, Darin (Kristi) Fearn, and Kevin (Jessica Ewing-Fearn, Laura Hall) Fearn; nine grandchildren, Clarise, Isabella, Victoria, Trevor, Savanna, Ashley, Kylie, Gabriella and Tessa Fearn, and Jordan Ewing; with one great-grandchild on the way; four nieces, Robin, Sandy, Tina and Sunceya; and many more cherished family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Scott Fearn; granddaughter, Savanna Fearn; and four siblings, Pete Fearn, Bruce Fearn, Marilyn Adams and Dorothy Fearn.
There will be no service or visitation observed at this time. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario is honored to serve the family.
