She was born July 29, 1956, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Dewie and Donna (Asselin) Burge. Being one of 6 in the “D” named clan was fun and never boring. Darlene was employed as a corrections officer for several years. She was a woman who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—baking, cooking, and relaxing with her cats, Callie and Windsor (who sadly has passed away). Darlene enjoyed attending the Apostolic Faith Assembly and made many friends over the years. She had an eye for design that was unique and special, and it showed in the many paintings, diamond dot and sewing projects she created. Her artistic talents were on full display in the most beautiful birthday and wedding cakes she made. Darlene enjoyed life and was happiest when she was spending time with her family. They brought her the greatest joy and they will cherish the memories they made together.
Darlene is survived by two children, Josh (Bethany Torres-Mann) Mann and Nicole (Kirk) Wilson; six grandchildren, Monroe, Oli, Baylee, Parker, Estelle and Liam; a brother, Donald Burge; two sisters, Denise (Mark) Powell and Deanna Burge; a sister-in-law, Debbie Burge; special cousin, Diane; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie McCarron; and brother, Dewie Burge Jr.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Wappner Funeral Directors and Crematory-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Robert O’Brian officiating. She will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park.
