He was born October 9, 1939, in Montcalm West Virginia. Fred loved to hunt and play softball in his younger days. On a daily basis he kept his mind sharp playing several games of Sudoku along with challenging his granddaughters in Wordle.
He became a Christian in his early thirties and became an avid student of the Bible. He was a student of R. B. Thieme Jr. Bible ministries in Houston, Tx. from 1973 until Pastor Thieme retired because of his illness. His son R. B. Thieme III replaced him. Additionally, he was a student of advanced conservative studies with Rush Limbaugh which he listened to from 1989 to His death in 2022.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Ulysses and Rebecca Henderson; five brothers, Artist, Oley, Willie, Herbert, and Ernest; and sisters, Linda Butler and Thelma Rice.
He is survived by his three children, Deborah Buckingham, Fred Henderson Jr., and Kerry Henderson; his four grandchildren; Greyson Buckingham, Julia Buckingham, Tara Kurtz and Frederick Henderson III.; five great grandchildren with one named Fred IV.; and his one sister, Cledith McCleese of Olive Hill, Ky.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 7, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Life Celebration Reception Center, 129 S. Main St. Mansfield, Ohio 44902. A luncheon will follow the service. He will be laid to rest at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio.
