Jenny was born on March 3, 1934, in Kinniconick (Vanceburg), Kentucky, to Clarence Kegley and Mammie (Esham) Kegley. Her most fond memories were growing up on the family farm. She graduated from Vanceburg High School and, later that year, married her childhood sweetheart, Harvey Ruckel, on October 10, 1953. They moved to Mansfield, Ohio, in 1954 where they built a life together and were married for 45 years.
They had three sons—Randy, Bryan, and Tim. She devoted her life to her husband and sons; staying home to raise their boys and keep the books for his business. She spent her life serving the Lord and was a member of Hanna Road First Church of Christ in Christian Union for over 60 years.
Later in life, she enjoyed being “on the go”: walking at the mall or Kingwood Center, visiting friends, shopping, and cruising around town in her Cadillac. Her family remembers her always being dressed fashionably and having her hair done perfectly. She played a special role in the lives of her grandchildren and had a very close bond with Cassi. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren so much. Jenny’s family was very important to her.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Bryan Ruckel and Tim (Terra) Ruckel; daughters-in-law, Denise Ruckel, Mary Ann Ruckel and Angie Eidson; grandchildren, David Eidson, Cassi Ruckel, Bethany Riggins, Christy (Ricky) Mills and Drew Ruckel; and great-grandchildren, Brailynn Webb, Amelia Riggins, Jayden, Gracelynn, Hudson, Dai’vion, and Ric’ki Mills.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Ruckel; son, Randy Ruckel; granddaughter, Danielle McDaniel; sister, Rosena McRoberts; brother, Jim Kegley and Paul Kegley; and her parents.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Wappner Funeral Directors and Crematory-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service conducted by Pastor Dink Porter will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00 am. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Mansfield Memorial Park.
