He was born October 27, 1954, in Newport News, Virginia, one of two sons of the late Nicholas and Anna (Waite) Pirman. He graduated from Padua Franciscan High School in 1973. He began his collegiate career at Cuyahoga Community College, graduating in 1978 and then graduated in 1982 from The Ohio State University, College of Engineering with a Bachelor Degree in Metallurgical Engineering. He began working at AK Steel and retired as a Quality Assurance operator.
He married Gweneth Crotty on June 24, 1989. John loved cooking and his annual camping trip with his wife to Maine. He also enjoyed camping in the cabins at Hocking Hills State Park. He enjoyed war gaming on his computer in his down time.
John is survived by his wife, Gweneth Pirman; five nieces and nephews, Matt Pirman, Julie Miller, Jon Shoemaker, Ryan Vermillion and Christine Vermillion; and two sisters-in law, Carolyn (George) Shoemaker and Barbara (Jack) Vermillion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Pirman; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Pirman.
Honoring John’s wishes, there will be no service or visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Richland County.
