Judith D. Porter, 81 years old, Mansfield, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord on July 26, 2024 at her residence in Mansfield. She was born in Lawton (Carter County), Kentucky, on April 8, 1943 to the late Grace (Bloomfield) and William Flannery. She married her sweetheart Dale Porter on May 8, 1965.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was also a granny to her sweet great grandson, who was a great joy to her. More than anything, she loved when her family came together and she put her family before herself. Always ready to meet with children and grandchildren for lunch and she kept in touch on messenger.
Judith was a devoted housewife who worked as a school health aide and in the Crestview High School cafeteria while her children were in school. She also worked at Wendy’s. She loved the Lord and took her children to Sunday school when they were young, so they could learn about Jesus.
She always had a vegetable garden and lots of different flowers around her house that she shared with others. Just about anything she had that you wanted or needed she would say, “You can have it”. She also enjoyed playing a farm app, Hey Day, on her I-pad, which she played for 10 years with her daughter Amy. She was a member of Zions Refuge Baptist Church.
Judith is survived by her husband; sister, Joyce (Danny) Tackett; son, Ronald (Loretta) Porter; daughters, Regina (Bill) Barrett, Amy Farver; grandchildren, Joshua Porter, Randall Porter, Elizabeth Porter, Jessica Porter, Nicholas Farver; great grandson, Ryan Porter, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jewell Hall, Jolene DeBord, Nancy Shatzer, Jenny Mabry; and brothers, Bill Flannery, Benny Flannery, Steve Flannery and Sam Flannery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Wappner Funeral Directors – Ontario, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Rd. The funeral service will be at Wappner Funeral Directors – Ontario, on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 10:30 AM, with Pastor Jay Stevens officiating. She will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park.
