He was born March 30, 1962, in Ashland, Ohio, and attended Hillsdale High School.
Kevin was the life of the party. He was fun loving, witty, and light-hearted, and he brought people together through humor and laughter. Honest, sincere, and generous, he was a dependable and determined man who was someone you could rely on; who lifted those around him.
He had a love for bass fishing, even spending time on the pro circuit doing what he loved. Being in the warm sun was where he was most happy, whether it was distant journeys on his motorcycles, days-on-end fishing trips on his boats, or week long vacations of basking on the beach with the family — he had a profound love and appreciation for nature and the outdoors. But most of all, Kevin loved bringing the family together and hanging out at his pool, where he spent countless hours lounging with his chihuahua, “GoGi”, by his side in his paradise.
Constantly cultivating relationships-both personal and professional-earned him many lifelong friends and customers throughout his career. He was a trusted and revered salesman with American Producers Supply for more than 20 years until his retirement. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him in life, leisure, and industry.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 41 years, Marjorie “Marti” Newton Shearer; mother, Judith Bee Shearer (Paul) Lifer; two sons, Shane (Sarah) Shearer and “favorite” son, Chris (Katherine) Shearer; five grandchildren, Parker, Shiloh, Preston, Owen and Liam; four siblings, Darrell (Maxine) Shearer, Deborah Shearer Griffin, Tish Shearer (Nick DiNardi) and Rana Shearer; sister-in-law, Judy Kunkle; three brothers-in-law, Dan Newton, Don Newton and Bobby (Linda) Newton; and a host of dearly beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vaughn Shearer; brother, Steve Shearer; and “Gogi’s” brother, “Bear”.
