Born June 1, 1939, Akron, Ohio, she was one of ten children of the late Gladys Irene (Bailey) and Jesse Leonard Baith. Being from a large family, Linda learned at an early age that the more hands helping on a task, the faster it went. She was devoted to her family and, in addition to raising her two children, she was a foster mother for 15 years.
Linda loved the lord and was an elder for Community of Christ Church. She worked as a secretary at Westinghouse Corp. but never slowed down when the company closed. She volunteered at the Renaissance Theatre for over 25 years, at Catholic Charities for over 20 years and at Mansfield General/MedCentral/OhioHealth hospital for over 30 years. When she wasn’t tending to the needs of others or volunteering, Linda enjoyed traveling, especially to the Outer Banks and other islands.
Linda is survived by her husband of two months, Gary Garrett; two children, Terry (Amy) Grogg of Hilliard and Tammy (Mike) Fisher of Ontario; six grandchildren, Tyler (Megan) Grogg of CA, Taylor Grogg of AZ, Nick (Jennifer Davis) Grogg of FL, Jessica (Erik Dillon) Hudson and Jimmy Hudson, both of Mansfield, and Michael (Jewel) Fisher of Shadyside, OH; two step grandchildren, Jonas and Gage Smith of Hilliard; seven great-grandchildren, Makayla, Colton and Elijah Oswalt, all of Mansfield, Theo Grogg of AZ, Callie Fisher of Shadyside, and Bailey and Aria Dizon of CA; two sisters, Rebecca Zivkoff of Lucas and Patricia Dyer of Pataskala; a brother, Timothy Baith of NC; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Grogg on October 13, 2020; four brothers, Len, Benjamin, Roy and Dick Baith who died at the young age of 4; and two sisters, Cindy Elliot and Donna Alexander.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Wappner Funeral Directors and Crematory-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service conducted by Elder Garnet Shears will follow at 11:30 a.m. She will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park.
Linda’s giving nature and loving ways will be cherished by all who knew her. Honoring her selfless personality the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Catholic Charities Hope Pantry, Community of Christ Church, the Renaissance Theatre c/o “Encore League of RPAA” or SouthernCare Hospice.
