Patsy Delores Quinn Secrist, 91, of Mansfield, Ohio went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 12, 2026, after a two year home stay in hospice care. Patsy was born on October 11, 1934, in the upstairs bedroom of 1404 North Sandusky Road, Bucyrus, Ohio.
She enjoyed a happy childhood with her parents and four siblings and walking to Aumiller Park with her friend Christa Baker to go swimming. Patsy was proud of her home that was filled with music, love and humor during the depression and the war years and watched war reels in the theater. Her family often fed soldiers and traveling men looking for work.
Patsy’s family moved to Park Avenue West in 1946 to Mansfield to be closer to her father’s work at Reese Optical in downtown Mansfield. Patsy enjoyed ice skating at Mansfield Memorial Park and bicycling to the boulevards in downtown Mansfield.
She graduated in 1953 from Springfield Local Schools in Ontario and worked at Reed’s Department Store. She married James (Jim) David Secrist on November 7, 1953, and enjoyed 57 years of marriage until his passing on June 29, 2011. Patsy worshipped with her family in the 60s-80s at Caesarea Baptist Church.
She is survived by her six children, Lynn Elston (Jim McFarren), Scott Secrist, Timothy (Patricia) Secrist, Andrew (Beth) Secrist, Matthew (Amy) Secrist, and Sarah (Dan) Perry; six grandchildren, Alexa (Justin) Martin, Abigail (Bryant) Burson, Maddalyn (Paris) Johnson, Preston (Emilee), Caroline, and Seth Zeigler; five great grandchildren, Hunter, Ariella, Audrey, Kammy, and Kairo.
