Born August 28, 1935, in Harlan, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Henry Clinton and Margaret (James) Eaton. Preston enlisted in the US Air Force and proudly served his country during the Korean War as a radio operator on a C-119. Very mechanically inclined, he was a supervisor of welding maintenance at General Motors. While there, he developed a patent for a mobile welding system that was used on the production line.
Preston attended Diamond Hills Baptist Church. He was a participant in the golf league for the local American Legion and General Motors. To say he was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan would be an understatement. He married his high school sweetheart, Roxie “Lois” Ramsey and they had a wonderful life together. Preston was a jokester who loved to make people laugh. His laugh and smile will be remembered with great affection by all who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Geoff Eaton.
He will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park.
