He was born on January 9, 1957, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Joann B. (Bratschie) and James E. Lallathin. Ron proudly served his country as a truck driver in the US Army. After his discharge, he became a semi-truck driver working for many years in the shipping industry. He also worked as a security guard for various hospitals and nursing homes.
Ron loved to make people laugh and was known for telling jokes and sharing funny stories. He was a strong man in every sense of the word and was nicknamed “Tank” by his brothers. Ron enjoyed his morning coffee daily and a cold Diet Coke whenever the need struck. He had a love of Chinese food and enjoyed trying all the buffets when he had the chance. Family was his top priority, and he dearly loved every one of them. He enjoyed Sunday dinners with them and especially looked forward to sharing chocolate ice cream (a favorite) together.
Ron is survived by a daughter, Amy (Richard) Davis; stepdaughter, Katie; four grandchildren, Drake (Ana) Davis, Raven (Nathan) Ulery, Mackenzie Harvey and McKayla Harvey; six great-grandchildren, Leo, Carson, Elijah, Paisley, Kayden and Hikari; three brothers, Jim (Joyce) Lallathin, Dave (Jane) Lallathin, and Chuck (Kim) Lallathin; and many cherished family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Tracy (White) Lallathin; and a daughter, Tammy Harvey.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a future date. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to any charity of the donor’s choice who serves American veterans.
