Alan Dean Swenson

Born on June 16, 1933, in the small farming community of Trimbele, Wisconsin, Alan was raised with the values of faith, hard work, and family that would guide him throughout his remarkable life.

On November 6, 1954, Alan married the love of his life, Marlene Krengel. Together they shared 71 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on love, faith, and unwavering devotion to one another and their family.

Alan dedicated 48 years of his professional career to Dart Transit Company, where his leadership, integrity, and commitment earned him the position of Executive Vice President before his retirement. He took great pride in his work and the lasting relationships he built throughout his career.

A faithful member of Emmaus Lutheran Church in Orange City for many years, Alan generously served on numerous church committees and found great joy in serving his congregation. His faith in the Lord was the foundation of his life, and he was known for his kind, compassionate spirit and his genuine concern for others. Outside of church and family, Alan had a lifelong passion for golf and could often be found on the course, where he enjoyed playing at least three times each week.

Alan will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Marlene Swenson; his daughter, Karen (Alan) Menning; his son, Scott (Nancy) Swenson; his cherished grandchildren, Angela (Jared Ringold) Polk, Amy (Matt Abold) Polk, William Rogman, Bryon Rogman, Nicole (Rob) Peterson, and Robert (Kayla) Swenson; and six beloved great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him tremendous pride and joy.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers and one sister.

Alan's legacy of faith, dedication, kindness, and love for his family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His gentle spirit, warm smile, and steadfast example will be deeply missed and forever treasured.
