Alice M Rose

She was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, on December 27, 1925, the daughter of the late Guy Doolittle and Lillian Griffiths. On January 1,1946, she married Raymond G. Rose, and the couple shared 60 years of marriage.

As a young girl, Alice worked at, and later managed, the concession stand at Loew’s Palace Theatre in Worcester, Massachusetts. She went on to become a highly successful sales consultant for Avon, Inc. In later years, she devoted herself to homemaking and to helping others.

Alice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond; her parents, Guy and Lillian; her brothers, Arthur and James; and her sisters, Emily, Mildred, and Frances.

She is survived by her sister, Marion Strakosz of DeLand, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Alice will be remembered by her family, friends, and all who cared for her as a woman who lived life on her own terms. She was known for her strong convictions, independent spirit, assertive nature, and wonderful sense of humor. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the strong spirited woman she was.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation was chosen. A private interment will take place at DeLand Memorial Gardens.
