Barbara Anne Turner, age 75, passed away at Parkside Health and Rehabilitation Center, Deland, FL on July 25, 2021. She was born on May 10, 1946 in Lawrence, MA to Richard P. and Lily I. Hayman. She was married to her best friend and love of her life, Martin Turner on May 31, 1985, before he preceded her in death in 2006. She was a 1964 graduate of Georgetown High School, Georgetown, MA and graduated from McIntosh Business College in Haverhill, MA. Barbara worked in many capacities throughout the years, serving as manager of the medical records departments at several area MA hospitals and as manager of student workers at Gordon College, Wenham MA before retiring in 2006 to Deltona, FL.
Barbara was first and foremost a dedicated mother. She was kind and selfless, strong and determined, and had a wonderful wit and sense of humor. She enjoyed cooking, reading, playing Mahjong, and doing crossword and word search games. She received much joy throughout the years from her cherished dogs and cats. In her retirement, she and her sister Betty enjoyed fostering kittens in their home.
She is survived by her son Donald Turner and wife Nesha, her step-daughter Heather Conant and husband Terrence; her twin sister Betty Tibbetts, her sister Margaret Tripp and husband Douglas, her brother Richard Hayman and wife Karen, and her brother-in-law James Crozier; her grandchildren, Brittany Stuart and husband Joseph, Forrest Turner, Vaughn Turner, Daniel Conant, Lauren Conant, Kia Turner; and her great-granddaughter Layla Stuart; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband and parents, her sister Susan Crozier, brother-in-law Richard Tibbetts, and sister-in-law Brenda Hayman.
Those who knew Barbara know she hated being fussed over and would rather give than receive.
