Ben was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1919 to Emil and Luyza Gross. He was one of six children: George, Louis, Sol, Margie and Irene. The family came to the United States in 1921 and settled in New York City where he met Doris “Dotty” Schnee and eventually married her. He served with the 346 Squadron of the US Army and was Second Wave at Normandy. He was a hardworking man driven to give his family everything. He was a devoted husband, loved his children, was a fun uncle to his nieces and nephews and was a Grand Uncle many times over. He loved baseball, bowling and golf. He loved to sing. He was a gentle man with a soft heart and often was taken advantage of. He was amazing! Rest in peace dad.
