Obituary of Bernard Joseph Choiniere
Bernard Joseph Choiniere Deland, FL - Bernard Choiniere, 94, of 1200 West New York Ave, Good Shepards ALF, died Friday July 29, 2022 at his place of residence on Hospice Care. Bernard, a retired car salesman was born in High Gate VT, on May 25, 1928. He moved to Florida from Waterbury CT, in 1977, where he had resided for 35 years. He was in the US Army & was deployed to Germany during the Korean War, where he lost his youngest brother Victor. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, DAV and Korean War Veterans Association. He was also a member of Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, marching in patriotic parades & occasionally was a Flag Bearer. Bernard enjoyed clamming in New Smyrna, playing cards (Set Back) & especially enjoyed being a jokester. Survivors include two daughters, Bernadette Braddock, Cynthia Barbina & a son Ronald Choiniere, all of Deltona FL. A sister, Claire George of Waterbury CT. Six grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren & many nieces & nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Halifax Health Hospice. 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange FL, 32129. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Halifax Hospice & Good Shepard ALF for their tender loving care. They were all a Godsend to us. Deltona Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of memorial service, scheduled for August 13, 2022 at 10 AM Est.
