Bernice I. Wade Worthington

Bernice I. Worthington, age 97, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Royal Oaks Nursing and Rehab Center in Titusville, Florida. Born in Richmond, Virginia to John Douglas Wade, Sr. and Carrie May Johnson, she was the 11th of 12 children. She was married almost 39 years to Gloss Beard Worthington, until his passing in 1975. They had lived in Deltona since 1973. Mrs. Worthington continued to stay in Deltona until early 2004, when she moved to Port St. John, Florida to be near her daughter. She loved her home, yardwork, sewing and crafts. She had previously been a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Deltona.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Sandra Brady of Port St. John, FL; 2 grandchildren, Melissa Stewart of Graham, NC and Carrie Brady of Cape Canaveral, FL; 6 great-grandchildren, Robert Stewart, Scott Gardner, Hailey and Grace Farmer, Leona and Lucas Velasco; one brother, Granderson Wade (101 years old) of Mechanicsville, VA; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 11 am - 1 pm with funeral services to follow at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL (386) 775-4260.
