Betty is survived by her loving daughter, Paula (Doug) Hale, sons Gary Scott (Leese) Jenia and Brian Guthrie (Michele); seven grandchildren, Whitney (Zzach), Kaitlyn (Paul), Brandon, Kai, Michael, Logan and Samantha; and her great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Wyatt, and Palmer with a fourth due in January. She also leaves behind her sister, Donna French (Chuck) Winsor; special niece, Karen Violet (Calvin Patterson) and her family; dear friend, John Van De Hey, together with many other friends and relatives.
Betty loved people and found great pleasure in serving others. She was a Life Member of The Moose, having worked as a bartender and waitress at Four Townes Moose Lodge in Debary for over 15 years. She was also a member of River City Eagles, where she enjoyed her ‘therapy’.
She showed us to boldly greet each day and told us to face life with a smile, not tears. Her zest for life was inspiring and will remain in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mooseheart or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, if so desired.
A celebration of life service for Betty will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 5:00 PM at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, Florida 32763, followed by a gathering of family and friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
