

Bettye I. Mathew, a remarkable woman with a heart of gold and a spirit that could light up any room, went to be with the Lord on January 21, 2025. She was a steadfast pillar of our family, always ready to offer a comforting hug, a delicious meal, and wise advice. Betty's love for her family knew no bounds, and her unwavering dedication to serving the Lord brought joy to all who were fortunate enough to know her. We will forever cherish the memories of her infectious laughter, captivating stories, and the unconditional love she shared so freely.
Bettye was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Casper Mathews, her brother Bruce Wood, and her cherished grandsons, Michael Banas and Johnathan Lolley.
She is survived by her loving son, Jon K. Mathew, and her devoted daughter, Deborah K. Moore. Bettye's legacy continues through her seven grandchildren: Josh Lolley, Michael Banas (Muriah Lindberg), Tonya Coppen, Megan Atkins, William Moore ( Kendra Moore), Alicia Portillo ( Brianna Portillo). She also leaves behind fifth-teen great-grandchildren: Gabriel Lewis, Zachary Rolling, Alex Atkins, Mikkel Banas, Avery Atkins, Michael Moore, A’Lynn Hagen, Abel Atkins, Wyatt Moore, Kirsten Moore, Camille McKinnon, Kinsley Moore, Meadow Atkins, Kilee Moore, and Asher Atkins. Additionally, she is survived by her sister Genene Gates, along with many other family members and friends who will miss her.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm, with entombment at Deltona Memorial Gardens in Orange City thereafter. A small reception for family and friends will be held following the entombment.
