He was born on July 30, 1949 on Kindly Air Force Base in Bermuda to the late Joyce Smith Aubrey.
Bruce moved from Bermuda to the Central Florida area in April of 1993 and worked as Director of Maintenance for most of the time. Bruce and his wife also lived in Maryville, TN from December 2008 until coming back to Florida in October 2015. The last 3 years of his life, he worked at Oakmonte Village Sienna, which is a Memory Care unit, and he loved all of his residents. While living in Bermuda, he was in construction.
He loved traveling – especially family vacations to Cancun, watching sports – specifically Soccer, playing poker, and mowing his grass and taking care of his yard. He also loved helping everyone. He played soccer while growing up in Bermuda and enjoyed powerboat racing in Bermuda. Loved going everywhere and anywhere with the Love of his life, Lori.
Bruce is preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Aubrey; father, Keith Aubrey; and mother-in-law, Cynthia Hamelin.
Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of 11 years, Lori F. Smith; children, Lori Correria and Bruce Smith Jr. of Pennsylvania; step-sons, Nathan Chamberlain of Tennessee and Philip Roche of Florida; sisters, Trudy Corday (husband, Terry) of Bermuda and Donna Maiato of Texas; brother-in-law, John Hamelin (wife, Ada) of Florida; sister-in-law, Tammy Maxson (husband, Craig) of Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 1:00pm at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763.
