Candace was born in Orlando, Florida on February 24, 1988 to parents, Irene Chapman and Robert McChancey. She was determined to live as long as she could considering she'd undergone heart surgery from birth. She was a fighter and a lover. Her small size never stopped her a bit. She was loved by everyone and full of life living her life on her terms. She was an amazing cook and made beautiful holiday treats for her family. She adored her nieces and nephews. Candace always made sure no one forgot her father's or mother’s birthday. Candace spoke to her grandma at least 3 times a day she loved her talks with grandma Lilyan. Candace was a lover of all walks of life and types of people; color, race, and ethnicity had no bearing on her acceptance of people. Her favorite color is purple and she loved her Calico cats Josie and Mya unconditionally. Candace loved the sound of the ocean and when Candace was able to, she loved her walks on the beach and the sand between her toes. Above all Candace loved her freedom to be herself.
After Candace spent weeks in the hospital undergoing treatment and was told the worst news of her life, Candace had one final request and she was determined not to pass in a hospital. She wanted to come home and be with her family and her cats Josie and Mya. Candace was not afraid and she accepted it was time to come home to our father in heaven.
Candace’s memory will forever be remembered by her parents, Irene Chapman and Robert McChancey her Sisters Priscilla Graph, Shana Bogue and her brother Allen McChancey. Her grandmother Lilyan McChancey, Hannah Johnston and grandfather Kenneth Johnston, as well as brother-in-law’s Brandon Bogue and Christopher Graph and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Celebration of Life will be held at The Mermaid and Her Fisherman in New Smyrna Beach, FL 106 North Peninsula Ave, New Smyrna FL 32169 Friday May 6th, 2022 from 5:30pm-8:30pm
Please enjoy these final thoughts from Candace's brother Allen.
I am home
I am home, please don’t cry to long for me but instead find peace that I have peace I am whole again. I know you didn’t want to let me go but my time has come and I took the journey home to be with my father and to no longer suffer I will not forget you and you will not forget me. I will look over you and protect you with my angel wings. When you miss me know I am beside you and you are surrounded by wings of an angel your angel, a gift that our father in heaven has bestowed upon me and that I choose to share with you, my family. You may not see me but know when the wind blows and you feel it upon your face that is me. When you smile when you think of me know I can see your smile, when you feel alone know you are with me and I am with you. Know that not one day will pass that you will be without me I am now and forever with you. I love you and I know you love me. One day we will meet again until then I will be here waiting and watching over you from heaven. I am home!
