He met and married Joan LaRochelle in Ottawa and after spending some time in public accounting moved to Massachusetts and joined a Fortune 500 company. He was a senior executive with this company for many years and had responsibilities in some 25 countries.
After his retirement, he and Joan spent summers in New Hampshire and Massachusetts and winters in Naples and Ft. Myers, Florida. They travelled back and forth for some 22 years before finally settling in Estero, Florida. Joan and Don travelled extensively in Europe and the Middle East during their early years of retirement as did Joan prior to Don’s retirement.
Joan and Don had seven children....five boys, two girls, 14 grandchildren and six great grand children. Don was predeceased by his beloved wife Joan of 65 years and two children Jeffrey and Peter.
Both were active in tennis and golf but mostly enjoyed visits with the children and grandchildren. Their children were the center of their lives.
Should friends desire, contributions may be made to The Salvation Army in Ft. Myers, Florida in memory of Donald who actively supported this excellent organization for years.
